Bea Kennedy, age 88, of Brookfield, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center in Marceline.
A funeral service will be Monday, July 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield with Pastor Mike White officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Brookfield. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Monday and the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Ellen Berniece, daughter of Elbert and Ethel (Neal) Lowther, was born April 1, 1922, near Shelby. On March 2, 1947, she married Doug Kennedy who preceded her in death September 18, 2000.
Bea had worked for Cisco Brown Drug Store in Brookfield for many years before her retirement.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Littrell and husband, Bill of Brookfield and Susan Fotenos and husband, Joe of Marceline; four grandchildren, Stacy Wild and husband, J.D. of Warrensburg, Amy Hallquist and husband, Jay of St. Joseph, Steve Fotenos and wife, Franchesca of Crofton, Maryland, and Doug Fotenos and wife, Katie of Marceline; eight great-grandchildren, Allison Wild, Alison, Nicholas, and Cole Fotenos, and Aidan, Kenna, Cheyenne, and Payton Hallquist; one sister, Margaret O’Connor of Marceline; and two brothers, Donald Lowther and wife, Lucille and J.D. Lowther and wife, Eudora all of Brookfield.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Helen Lowther, Hester Rauer, and Catherine Marriott; and a brother-in-law, Louis O'Connor.
